Stalker (Poem)
The first note I found
In a drainage spout,
When incoming rain
Had jostled it out.
"I've been watching Janice,
But she isn't watching me.
I speculate her spectacles
Can make it hard to see.
I've memorized her patterns
And seen her come and go,
I've rifled through her diary
For secrets I should know..."
The next note was left
In the trash by a desk,
In the room in the back
Where the seating is best.
"I've been following Tiffany
I don't think she's aware,
I feel a grand epiphany
But she doesn't know I'm there.
I have a hidden secret,
A portion of her hair
I cut it while she's sleeping,
I knew she wouldn't care..."
The last note I found in a cereal box
I had opened brand new
With a sealed cardboard top.
"I'm obsessed with Gigi,
She always reads my letters,
I watch her watching TV
And I sniff her dirty sweaters
I need her as my trophy,
She will be my secret wife,
when she has her morning coffee,
I will come to take her life..."
I set aside the letter,
As I could read no more
But as I sipped my coffee,
There came knocking at my door.
